Happy Friday!
We are fewer than 50 days out from November 3rd. The midterm election determines whether we’ll have a Congress that finally checks the Trump Administration or two more years of unchecked control. This election It is how we make him a lame duck and begin the long process of healing and justice this country needs.
The coming weeks are critical for increasing voter registration. This past Monday was National Voter Registration Day; check out Women Forward’s Field & Digital Organizing Toolkit for guides and resources to help you host or support registration drives.
Read on for opportunities to get involved and local events in this week’s ‘Ways to Engage’ series from Alaska Forward!

Writing Wednesdays – Writing Can Save Democracy!
Join Women Forward for Writing Wednesdays 12-1pm AK. The Women Forward Write to Win project supports writing letters to the editor, your elected representatives, corporations, or political campaigns. Writing Wednesdays invites writers to express their ideals and aspirations for democracy and our country and hold people in power accountable by writing letters to newspaper or media outlet editors, elected representatives, corporations, or others.
The DNC is taking on the GOP and working to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. They need your help to build for the future so please consider making a donation today!
Opportunities for Everyone to Engage, Get Training and Take Action!
- Visit the DNC’s Take Action page – Learn more about the ‘Local Listeners’ training, Storytellers Network, and other ways to get involved. Get the word out about how the Trump Administration is affecting Alaska – you can find a running list of Federal actions affecting our state here. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper – Check out Women Forward’s helpful toolkit for guidance. Letters to the editor are a long game, so if your letter isn’t published, keep trying and post it on social media and share it with your network. You can find more tips on how to write letters that really get attention here and feel free to contact us at info@alaskaforward.org if we can help in any way.
- Join Action Alaska: Be a part of this collaboration among Stand UP Alaska, Alaskans Take a Stand, and Alaska March On to protect Alaska and our Democracy! Join here.
- Take Action with People Power United Alaska – Fill out their interest form for actions you can take to help fight for freedom and equal rights, in person and online!
- Stay Informed: Follow the Women Forward Action Center Substack for updates on Congressional actions and ways to engage.

Disclaimer: Alaska Forward is an unofficial group that engages in activities such as submitting letters to the editor, assisting with signs, and participating in grassroots efforts aligned with the Democratic Party’s campaign plans.
It’s important to note that we do not operate as a formal campaign entity, do not handle funds, and do not incur expenses. While we assist with purchasing campaign materials and collaborate with the Democratic Party, our primary focus remains on grassroots support as a group of friends.
