Happy Friday!
Earlier today, the Supreme Court cleared the way for the Trump administration to revive a controversial (and unreliable) federal database to check the citizenship status of voters on state rolls, just weeks before the midterms. The system has already caused some eligible voters to be wrongly flagged and removed from voter rolls.
Noncitizen voting is a manufactured crisis. ‘Voter fraud’ is one of Trump’s most persistent talking points, especially every time elections approach. Here is what you can do: Check in with your family and friends and make sure everyone in your circle is registered and has a plan to vote.
Read on for opportunities to get involved and local events in this week’s ‘Ways to Engage’ series from Alaska Forward!
