Anchorage: Can you record a 2-4 minute message for the Oct 17 Vote Early rally on KONR?

On Saturday, Oct 17, Alaskans Take A Stand, Stand Up Alaska, and partners are hosting the No Kings: Vote Early Car Parade in Anchorage. Decorated cars will roll through Mountain View, Fairview, and Government Hill, and Spenard the whole thing will be broadcast live on KONR 106.1 FM and streamed on Out North Radio, so neighbors can tune in from their porches and their cars. Early voting opens Monday, Oct 19, and we want people to leave that day with a plan.

We would love your voice on the air. Would you record a short message, 2 to 4 minutes, that we can play during the broadcast?

What we would like from you:A recording of 2 to 4 minutes (about 300 to 600 words) read aloud sent to Ryan Anderson at ryan@standupalaska.org by Tues, Oct 13.

Just find a quiet room, use the voice memo app on your phone (no special equipment is needed). Start with your name and one line about who you are. End with: “Early voting opens October 19. Make your plan today.”

Yesterday, Bill Hill for Alaskans launched a new television ad focused on Nick Begich’s continued votes to raise gas prices, which have gone up 50% in Alaska since Begich took office. Gas is nearly $9/gallon in Bill’s hometown of Naknek, and diesel has reached an all-time high in the state. Bill is running for Congress to do something about it.

Bill’s campaign has been out-pointing Begich and pro-Begich forces on TV for the past four weeks. Two newly released polls show Bill gaining ground: A +6 Begich poll with a 5.1% margin of error and a +4 Begich poll with a 3.4% margin of error.
