This Saturday marks a year since Donald Trump signed what he called his “big, beautiful bill” into law. There was nothing beautiful about it. While Republicans celebrate the largest-ever cuts to basic needs programs for vulnerable families in American history (all to fund tax cuts for the ultrawealthy), the rest of the country is still living with the wreckage.
Saturday is also our nation’s 250th birthday and Donald Trump is treating a day that belongs to all Americans like it’s his own coronation.
As we celebrate, let’s out-organize him to build a Congress that can actually hold him accountable instead of handing him a bigger stage. Read on for opportunities to get involved and local events in this week’s ‘Ways to Engage’ series from Alaska Forward!
