August 22, 2025 – Weekly Ways to Engage

Happy Friday!  After continually flip-flopping on his position on the war in Ukraine and threatening sanctions on both parties, Trump met for “peace talks” with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin last week in Anchorage. We responded with amazing rallies across the state supporting Ukraine, bringing out thousands of Alaskans united in a positive message!

Let’s keep up the pressure and urge the Alaska Delegation to tell Trump to support Ukraine with a ceasefire agreement that maintains Ukraine’s control over their own land. Call Senator Murkowski at (202) 224-6665, Senator Sullivan at (202) 224-3004, and Congressman Begich at (202) 225-5765.

Also, don’t let them forget that the money from the #BigUglyBill is enabling the kidnapping of people off the street, cutting Medicaid, SNAP, and gutting other life-saving programs. Tell them you don’t want your tax dollars to support this!

We know it’s exhausting to keep up with these attacks on our values, so please find your way to both take action and take care of yourself. Read on for important actions you can take as well as upcoming events, and other ways to get involved in this week’s “Ways to Engage” series from Alaska Forward!
